Song 7: Make The Most
Dr. Clark:
(music comes in for “Make the Most”)
Every day I wake up believing
There’s so much more for me to do - I want to show the world to you
Every day I see how your growing
And I’m amazed at your progress - you’ll be prepared for the real test
There is a life that is calling you - A world in need is inviting you
Come be the change that will fix it - Come be the sights and the sounds that will make it beautiful
Everyday I’m in search of a new way to say
Dr. Clark, Ms. Flowers, Ms. Mason:
Make the most – make the most of what you have
Do your best – do the best that you can do
Just believe – just believe that you will be
Be a problem solver – you’re a problem solver
Dr. Clark:
Every day you and I are spinning
Whirling around on an axis - Ever the same, but the fact is
Every day is a new beginning
Will you plow through all the hard stuff? - Will you take charge of your future?
And face your fears and overcome - You have the strength to overcome
You’ll be the change that you want to see - You’ll be the light that will shine on our shared humanity
It’s your earth – live your moment for all that it’s worth - and
All:
Make the most – make the most of what you have (Clark: make the most of what you have)
Do your best – do the best that you can do (Clark: do your best - do the best that you can do)
Just believe – just believe that you will be (Clark: and when you get knocked down, that's when you rise back up again)
Be a problem solver – you’re a problem solver
Dr. Clark:
You must decide to believe it (students begin pushing their projects together.)
You must decide you’ll be great (Cars go together next to windmill.)
You hold the key to your future (House goes with generator.)
Use it every day and make the most (House label becomes “Future House”)
All:
Make the most – make the most of what you have
Do your best – do the best that you can do
Just believe – just believe that you will be (keep moving forward - when you get knocked down, that's when you)
Be a problem solver – you’re a problem solver (rise back up again)
Make the most – make the most of what you have (make the most)
Do your best – do the best that you can do (keep moving forward)
Just believe - just believe that you will be (you've got potential)
Be a problem solver – just believe you can, and I'll believe (and I'll believe with YOOOOUUUUUUU)
Dr. Clark:
and I’ll believe with you
All:
I believe, I believe, I believe it
I believe, I believe, I believe it
I believe, I believe, I believe it
I believe, I believe, I believe it
Dr. Clark:
I’ll believe with you
(Pause for applause when the song ends.)
The lesson you all learned makes everybody a winner here today no matter what the judge says. But I have a feeling it may not be over yet.
Stem S:
Where did ___(narr)___ go?
Narr:
(just then she comes in the door anxiously)
Here I am. And you-know-who is RIGHT BEHIND me! Get ready!
(everyone scrambles to stand behind their projects. Dr. Clark and the teachers stand off to the side. the lights flicker accompanied by a peal of thunder and the Darth Vader music. The door opens.)
Judge Nader:
(slowly walking around and inspecting the newly combined project looking very displeased. Everyone is silent. After looking at all students disapprovingly, he writes on his scoreboard. Then he holds it up. It says, “Winners: Everyone!”
Students begin jumping up and down and screaming with excitement, “we’re going to Florida, we’re going to Florida!)
Judge Nader shakes the principal’s hand, turns and leaves
Narr:
“What you are will show in what you do.” that’s what Thomas Edison said. We’re just like him. We’re problem solvers.
